Benjamin Lanz is a Multi-instrumentalist, Composer, Arranger, Producer, and Song Writer, based in Paris, France. He holds a Doctorate in Music from Stony Brook University in New York, where he studied instrumental performance (with a focus on trombone and brass instruments), Electronic Music composition, audio engineering, and music history.

Ben is a long-time member of the bands The National and Beirut, and as well, has been touring and recording with Sufjan Stevens since 2005. Along with these groups, he fronts two main songwriting projects, LNZNDRF, a band with Bryan and Scott Devendorf, and Aaron Arntz, and as well, the singer-songwriter solo project, LANZ, with the recent collaborative album The More Soon, with artist Kevin Gilmore. Ben is also consistently working on collaborative projects, recently “Ballard” an Electroacoustic, Post-Jazz record with saxophonist Kris Allen and the long form Psych-Rock project Million Lands, with Drummer Kid Millions.

Ben is as well an in demand Producer and Arranger, recently working on recordings with the artists H-Burns, Flora Hibberd, Mina Tindle, Lonny, Eñaut Elorrieta, The Duke Of Norfolk, Ysé, and Animal Triste, with more recordings currently in the works.
